  I also am a disabled veteran who got a letter which has" twisted the truth"of the circumstances regarding pain medication. I have nerve compression from 2 levels of back to back spondylolisthesis, bone spurs on multiple levels of the cervical spine, and foraminal stenosis associated with severe disc degeneration. But EmergeOrtho pain clinic hasn't been able to improve any symptoms of pain with injections or medication. Their mission is NOT in pain relief! When you explain that you are still in quite a bit of pain after they continually prescribe the same med over and over, you are thought of as some kind of "addict", as if that is unheard of, and humiliated on top of it! Don't waste your time with this unprofessional clinic!

  PLEASE FIND ANOTHER DOCTOR. I've had nerve damage for 20 years due to an accident. I used to go to Chapel Hill University Center for Spine and Pain but decided to find a local doctor. From the beginning all he wanted to do was lower my pain meds but do more spinal injections (which are the money makers). He has never asked how I'm doing on the medication or if my pain is under control. All he has been concerned with is reducing the pain medication that I have been on for 20 years through 3 doctors agreeing with it. My belief is he's concerned more with public opinion than patient care. Now I've received a letter in the mail where they a taking my medication away and putting me on a "drug holiday". I can't imagine any holiday where I suffer every awake hour from pain. This is no joke, the last time my pain was not controlled I ended up sooo depressed I was suicidal. But the don't care, they sent a letter. Now I'm trying to convert my care to the over stressed Veterans Administration since I'm a disabled veteran . What else am I to do.
